This bowl is cut from a single piece of birch and is 13” in diameter. This is much harder wood then the bowl shown above and it has been finished to make it more water resistant.
The marks on the bottom are hard to read but I think I see “Birch”, “Deluxe”, “German” and one more word I can’t make out.
Update: a reader tells me that other word is “Red” as in Red Birch”. Thanks Russell.
Given the heavier construction and the finish this bowl could have been used for wetter foods than the one above.
